Gail Richmond, Ph.D.
Professor of Science & Urban Education
319 Erickson Hall
Department of Teacher Education
College of Education
Michigan State University
East Lansing, MI 48824
Professor Richmond's research is centered on
--what it is, how it develops, and its importance, not only in the work of scientists, but in learning and teaching science. She also is interested in understanding better how agency and identity shape the development of such understanding. The first of these includes instructional (K-12 and university science classrooms, research laboratories), cultural (family, peer, community), and professional contexts.
The second of these--professional and personal identity--also shapes how learning and teaching develop.
